Zoom Features
Welcome to Zoom, the online platform for my events! I'd like to review some of Zoom's key features, which we'll use during our event.
Mute/Unmute:
You can mute and unmute yourself by clicking the microphone icon at the bottom left of your screen. Please keep yourself muted unless you're speaking to minimize background noise.
Start/Stop Video:
You can turn your video on or off by clicking the camera icon next to the microphone. It's great to keep your video on, but I understand if you need to turn it off occasionally.
Participants Panel:
Click 'Participants' at the bottom to see who is in the meeting. You can also rename yourself if needed by clicking 'More' next to your name.
Chat:
Use the chat feature to ask questions or share comments. Click on 'Chat' at the bottom to open the chat window. You can send messages to everyone or privately to specific participants.
Raise Hand:
Please use the' Raise Hand' feature if you have a question or comment during the presentation. Click on 'Reactions' at the bottom and then select 'Raise Hand'. This helps manage the flow of conversation.
Screen Sharing:
I will be sharing my screen during the class.
Reactions:
You can use reactions to engage with the class without interrupting. Click 'Reactions' at the bottom and choose from options like 'Thumbs Up', 'Clap', or other emojis.
Breakout Rooms:
We use breakout rooms for small group discussions. You'll receive an invitation to join a room. Simply click 'Join' to enter.
Recording:
Please note that this session may be recorded. But only the main screen, not your breakout room discussion.
Technical Issues:
If you experience any technical issues, please let me know through the chat, and I'll do my best to assist you.
Thank you for reviewing the features of Zoom. Let's have a great class!
See you soon,
Lorraine
